I'm now in my thirties, and have been making websites since my early teens. When I'm not sleeping or finding it difficult to sit upright - something that happens fairly regularly these days - you can find me immersed in video games or writing. Regular fics in this economy is not guaranteed but I do my best. Sometimes I'll buy yet another nendoroid or figure to add to my robust collection, or I'll stay up in the small hours with insomnia scrolling through tumblr. Y'know, people things. Edgey.
As of the end of 2016, I've been living with diagnosed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, which has, in a phrase, shot my creativity and ability to do very much at all. This is an illness that is slowly eating away at my faculties. Every day is a struggle, particularly when my body is so keen to sabotage and demand disproportional amounts of energy for what I actually successfully do; personally I am housebound and my limits now dictate that I can just about eat and keep up with basic daily hygiene needs. I have a lot of restrictive symptoms and am just left to manage it entirely alone. Perhaps if I'm lucky I'll get to engage with the things I love beyond daily tasks, but I've had to let a lot of things I like to do go, or partake in them very sparingly. I decided to include this about myself for the sheer fact that CFS/ME is a hugely underesearched, no treatment, no cure chronic illness, and if I have any job left anymore, it's to spread awareness for it. (And if you also have it, I see you.) #millionsmissing
Most of my recreational time is poured into video games, as to me, it's the best of both worlds: the narrative to rival novels and the visuals of a movie, paired with the engagement of me playing as the protagonist in the starring role. I feel so much more involved in a game, so much more immersed, and I can and will disappear into something new for a week (or month) and return spinning it around and dissecting it in my mind... no matter how unwell I get, you can't take my penchant for media analysis out of me that easily. My general genre go-to is RPG (or JRPG), but I'll sometimes wind up in adventure-action. You can get a general idea of what I've been playing recently by looking at my tumblr or my psnprofile.
I play Overwatch and Final Fantasy XIV daily. I have a lot of alts, and a lot of hours in both games.
Cardcaptor Sakura holds a special place in my heart. I'm an animated film buff, an enjoyer of a good sci-fi flick, and a sucker for a good love story. Or anything to do with relationships, platonic or not. And vampires. And grief. Give me a dysfunctional family unit and I'll be happy.
I've been loitering with cyber creations since May 27th, 2004. It occurs to me that there are people on the internet that are younger than the accumulative years I've spent site making. I am very old. The end.
